Asian Ornithologists Flock

Vision

Our vision is to create a thriving, inclusive space to support the common identities, challenges, and opportunities for Asian/Asian American ornithologists, while welcoming ornithologists of all backgrounds/identities and to increase representation for Asian/Asian American ornithologists across career stages (student, postdoc, and career) and fields (e.g. academia, NGO, government). We strive for a future where Asian/ Asian American ornithologists are well-connected, supported, and empowered to contribute meaningfully to the field of ornithology. Through mentorship, collaboration, and advocacy, we aim to foster greater diversity, representation, and recognition of Asian perspectives in ornithology worldwide.

Mission

Our Flock aims to build a collaborative network of Asian and Asian American ornithologists, while welcoming ornithologists of all backgrounds and identities. We hope to support individuals across all career stages and experiences by creating a platform to connect, share opportunities, foster collaboration, and encourage active participation. Our overarching goal is to contribute meaningfully and effectively to the field of ornithology and the broader ornithology community.
