Flight Paths

Mission Statement

The Flight Paths flock will support members during career transitions, provide insight to different career paths available in ornithology, and provide opportunities to interact with colleagues. This flock will be a place of open communication, respect for different perspectives, and equitable contributions to conversations and resources. To achieve this goal, we hope that members will be active participants, communicate what resources or activities would be helpful, and represent and support diverse ornithological career paths and stages. In turn, the Flock will aim to provide a source of community throughout the year and assemble resources to provide support in career development.

Vision Statement

The Flight Paths flock seeks to increase a sense of belonging in ornithology, recognizing that there are many different ways to be an ornithologist. This flock will aim to provide guidance, advice, and peer support in the development of members’ professional goals. This will include opportunities to maintain engagement and share experiences with the ornithological community as well as avenues for informal mentoring and networking.
